Some seniors come in knowing exactly who they are. A track and cross country runner, Kaleb's session started at Myrick Park — his training grounds along the frozen river. Then Cass Street Bridge, where he runs with his teammates. His mom's vision: get him on that bridge, and in a suit with his running shoes. We delivered on both.

His dad, Dr. Ezana Azene, was there for all of it — and the photos together on the bridge are some of our favorites from the whole session.

01The Locations

Myrick Park & Cass Street Bridge

We started at Myrick Park, which sits above La Crosse with a view of the Mississippi River valley that gets better the closer you get to sunset. The elevation gives you open sky in every direction — the kind of light that doesn't require much explanation. It just works.

From there we moved to the Cass Street Bridge, the span Kaleb runs with his cross country and track teammates. It isn't a conventional portrait spot, and that's exactly why it works. He moves across it the way he always has — at a real pace, on ground that already means something to him. Two locations. One built for running, the other for the city behind him. A single session that looked exactly like the spring of Kaleb's senior year — earned, unhurried, his.

02Behind the Session

The Bridge His Teammates Know

Kaleb's session started at Myrick Park on one of the first genuinely warm days of spring. Open trails, good light, and room to move — the kind of day that makes you want to be outside.

Then we went to the Cass Street Bridge. His mom had this in mind from the very first planning call. Kaleb runs this bridge with his cross country and track teammates. She wanted to see him running it for real — not posed, not slow. That's the kind of direction that makes a session worth remembering.

We wanted to get him in a suit with his running shoes to create a Sports Illustrated-styled portrait.

His dad, Dr. Ezana Azene, joined us for part of the session. We love capturing parents in the frame — those portraits carry weight in a way the individual shots don't. Kaleb is headed to Morehouse to study engineering and run. One image from his session won a FlashMasters Award.

Senior Portraits — Kaleb Azene

Myrick Park. Cass Street Bridge. A suit, running shoes, and his dad in the frame. These are Kaleb's senior portraits — built around who he actually is, on the ground that already means something to him.

Your next step

What happens next

Every session follows the same simple path — planned with you from the first call to the wall.

01

Reserve your date

The $300 session fee reserves your date, covers your planning call, the session and your theater reveal — and applies in full toward your artwork; most clients invest $1,500 or more.

02

Plan it together

A FaceTime planning call before the session — locations, outfits, and what matters most to who they’re becoming.

03

Your theater reveal

Two weeks later, you’ll see the portraits presented large for the first time — and we design your wall art and albums together.

One conversation. No pressure. We'll tell you honestly if we're the right fit.

The year, framed

This is who he is right now, and a portrait in the house keeps up with it. It is the thing you stop and look at on an ordinary Tuesday, and the thing they come back to see.

And an album is what they'll find on the shelf years from now, heavier than they expect — every spread a record of who they are right now, the version of themselves they will want to remember. Not a file. Something they can hold.

01Where are the best locations for senior portraits in La Crosse, Wisconsin?+

La Crosse gives you real range depending on the story you want to tell. Myrick Park offers open trails, marsh views, and golden-hour light over the Mississippi River valley. The Cass Street Bridge adds an active, urban edge that suits seniors who want movement and energy in their portraits. Every session is built around the student — their interests, their sport, the places that already mean something to them.

02What should a senior bring to their portrait session?+

Bring the things that say who you are — a letter jacket, an instrument, a uniform, the shoes you actually train in. The strongest senior portraits carry the details of a real life, not just a good outfit. We talk all of it through on your planning call so nothing important gets left at home.

03What is Myrick Park in La Crosse, Wisconsin?+

Myrick Park is La Crosse's oldest park, set along the La Crosse River Marsh at the base of the bluffs in western Wisconsin. Its trails, open prairie, and marsh views make it a favorite for outdoor portraits, especially in golden hour when the light comes off the water. For Kaleb, it's also home — the ground he trains on, which is why we started there.

04Do you photograph senior portraits outside of La Crosse?+

We do sessions throughout La Crosse, Onalaska, Holmen, West Salem, Sparta, Tomah, Winona, Caledonia, La Crescent, and the surrounding areas. Travel for the right work.

The photographers

Jeff & Alisha Wiswell

Alisha and I met saving a critical patient in the ICU. We bring that same presence and precision to every session. Two people, one vision: to photograph you the way we live — honest, intentional, and fully present.

You show up as yourself, and we handle everything else — Alisha shaping the light, me directing and keeping you at ease, both of us making sure nothing ever feels stiff or posed. The portraits you'll treasure aren't the perfectly arranged ones. They're the honest ones, and drawing those out is the whole job.
